NOC 44100 – Home child care providers
Child care provider required for family with two school age children. The applicant must be mature, loving, energetic, honest, outgoing, independent, and reliable.
Work Location: Nearest intersection: Alma St. and Point Grey Rd., Vancouver, BC, V6R 1B2
Job duties
- Full‑time care to children while parents work, including helping children dress, preparing and feeding meals
- Engage children in play and various activities at home and outdoor parks
- Plan activities that promote physical, emotional, intellectual and social development
- Supervise games, walks, playdates and playground outings
- Take children to and from school and appointments
- Tend to the children’s emotional well‑being and help with homework
- Provide care, warmth and security in the absence of parents
- Put the absolute safety of the children before all other responsibilities
Job Requirements – Experience and Qualifications
- Completion of the equivalent of the Canadian secondary school education
- At least 6 months of caregiver training or one year of full‑time paid caregiver experience in the past three years
- First Aid Certificate or CPR Certificate (or willingness to take a course upon employment)
- Able to speak, write and read English
- Eligible to receive a Canadian work permit
Work Setting
Employer’s home – employment in the employer’s/client’s home. Relocation costs covered by employer.
Terms of Employment
Full‑time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Days off: Saturday and Sunday. 2 weeks paid holidays, 30‑minute paid meal break, 5 days paid sick leave. Relocation cost paid by employer.
Start date of employment: as soon as possible
Wage: $19.00 hourly
