Job summary

Stelumar Advanced Manufacturing Inc. is seeking a Chief of Staff in Etobicoke & Mississauga, Ontario.

The role is a high‑impact operating partner to the General Manager, coordinating across commercial, operations, finance, product, technology and other functions to translate priorities into decisions and measurable results. You’ll tackle ambiguous problems, build the operating cadence, and drive initiatives from analysis to action.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in engineering, business, finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in roles requiring rigorous analysis and cross-functional execution.
• Strong problem-solving, financial modeling, and data-driven decision-making.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders with clear recommendations.
• Comfort working in a technology-enabled manufacturing environment.

What we offer

The Chief of Staff is a high-impact operating partner to the General Manager, helping translate the company’s most important priorities into decisions, execution, and measurable results. Working across commercial, operations, finance, product, technology, and other functions, this role will tackle ambiguous, cross-functional problems, build the operating cadence that keeps leaders aligned, and ensure critical initiatives move from analysis to action. This is a hands-on opportunity for a rigorous generalist who wants to learn the business from the inside-out, then move into an operating role within Stelumar. The operating job at the end is the point of the role, not a side benefit.

What you’ll do

Strategic priorities and executive decision support

• Own high-priority business questions end to end: frame the problem, build the analysis and financial models, surface trade-offs, and deliver clear recommendations the General Manager and leadership team can act on.
• Partner with the General Manager on enterprise priorities, annual and quarterly planning, and special strategic initiatives, ensuring attention and resources are focused on the areas of greatest impact.
• Prepare concise, decision-oriented materials for leadership discussions and follow through on decisions, commitments, and unresolved issues.

Operating cadence and performance

• Run the management cadence for the business, including weekly operating reviews, KPI tracking, quarterly planning, and action follow-up.

Cross-functional execution

• Get complex initiatives unstuck by bringing the right leaders together, clarifying decisions and accountabilities, and driving work to completion.
• Lead selected commercial and operational initiatives, including business cases, partnership models, process design, or scaling initiatives where cross-functional leadership is required.
• Work directly with teams in offices, manufacturing facilities, project environments, and other operating settings to understand issues at the source rather than relying only on reported information.

Build and scale

• Build practical tools, dashboards, workflows, and operating mechanisms that make planning and execution more repeatable as Stelumar scales.
• Use AI, automation, and modern analytical tools to improve the speed and quality of analysis, reporting, and business processes.
• Take on evolving scope as business needs change, with the opportunity to assume deeper ownership of an operating area over time.

What you bring

• Post-secondary education in engineering, business, finance, economics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in private equity, management consulting, investment banking, strategy, high-growth operations, running your own company, or another role requiring rigorous analysis and cross-functional execution.
• Exceptional structured problem-solving and financial acumen, including the ability to build a model from a blank sheet, pressure-test assumptions, and translate analysis into a clear recommendation.
• A track record of taking ambiguous problems from question to answer to implementation, with strong ownership and attention to detail.
• Clear, concise written and verbal communication, sound judgment, and the ability to influence and align senior stakeholders without relying on formal authority.
• Comfort operating close to the work in a physical, technology-enabled business and curiosity about manufacturing, construction, and how complex operating systems work.
• Demonstrated use of AI or automation to improve personal productivity or business processes.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Adaptability and a willingness to work across a changing scope as the company grows.

Bonus Points

• Experience in advanced manufacturing, construction, modular building, industrial technology, real estate development, or another asset-intensive operating environment.
• Experience designing operating cadences, integrated business planning processes, or executive-level performance reporting.
