Position Overview
The Chief Financial Officer – Commercial Operations (CFOCO) is a key strategic partner who leads financial planning, analysis, reporting and risk management for BWXT Canada's Commercial Operations. The CFOCO translates strategy into measurable results, drives performance excellence, and enables data‑driven decisions that support sustainable growth.

Your Day to Day
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Shape and execute a financial strategy that advances growth objectives.
- Advise senior leadership on long‑term planning, capital allocation and growth priorities.
- Evaluate the financial implications of new programs, partnerships and regulatory changes to ensure alignment with corporate strategy.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead forecasting, budgeting and long‑range planning with a focus on accuracy, accountability and insight.
- Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and recommend actions to improve results.
- Drive transparency through meaningful financial metrics and reporting.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Maintain a strong internal control framework that meets Canadian regulatory and corporate standards.
- Identify, assess and mitigate financial and operational risks proactively.
- Serve as the primary contact for audits and regulatory reviews.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Champion process innovation and leverage technology to enhance efficiency and decision quality.
- Simplify and standardize financial processes and reporting to improve clarity, speed and consistency.
Cross‑Functional Business Partnership
- Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain and Commercial leaders to embed financial accountability into business decisions.
- Deliver financial analysis and modeling to inform pricing, cost management and contract performance.
- Partner on initiatives related to capital investment, margin optimisation and strategic growth.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing finance team of approximately 45 professionals.
- Promote career development, succession planning and leadership capability across the finance organisation.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and innovation consistent with BWXT’s values.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Experience: 15+ years of progressive financial leadership, including 5+ years overseeing a business segment or division.
- Proven ability to drive financial strategy, risk management and performance improvement within complex industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Expertise in financial planning, forecasting and reporting with a strong understanding of accounting and regulatory standards.
- Exceptional leadership, communication and influencing skills with the ability to partner effectively across teams and functions.
- Recognised for developing high‑performing finance teams and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario (CA‑ON) at the start of employment is expected to be between $200,000 and $300,000 per year. The actual base salary offered is based on local market factors and may vary further depending on candidate‑specific factors. Total compensation may also include an annual cash incentive and a full range of medical, retirement and other benefits. Details of participation in these plans will be provided upon offer.
