A prominent recruitment agency is seeking a Facilities Operations Manager to oversee daily operations, manage third-party service providers, and ensure compliance with building systems. The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary education in Engineering or Architecture and over 5 years of experience in complex facility environments. This role is pivotal in maintaining operational efficiencies and enhancing building performance in the heart of Toronto.
Oversee daily operations and maintenance of all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems, ensuring reliability and compliance.
Monitor and evaluate performance of third‑party service providers against contractual KPIs, including maintenance quality, safety, and energy performance.
Serve as the primary liaison for tenant service requests and operational escalations, ensuring swift and effective resolutions.
Conduct regular building inspections to identify system deficiencies, plan preventive maintenance, and forecast long‑term capital requirements.
Partner with sustainability and engineering teams to reduce utility consumption and improve building performance through data‑driven energy management.
Participate in annual budget preparation, monitoring expenditures, and identifying opportunities to reduce operating costs through efficiency initiatives.
Manage capital projects from conception through completion, ensuring work is executed safely, on time, and within budget.
Maintain compliance with all environmental, health, and safety standards, implementing corrective measures where necessary.
Participate in emergency response protocols, after‑hours call rotations, and incident investigations.
Post‑secondary education in Engineering, Architecture, or Environmental Building Sciences (Electrical or Mechanical preferred).
5+ years of progressive experience in facilities or property operations within large, complex environments such as high‑rise offices, mixed‑use developments, campuses, or luxury hospitality properties.
Strong technical knowledge of building automation systems (BAS), mechanical/electrical operations, and preventative maintenance programs.
Demonstrated experience in energy management, sustainability projects, and performance optimization.
Exceptional communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams, vendors, and tenants.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while maintaining focus on service quality.
Certifications such as RPA, FMA, or P.Eng considered assets.
Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem‑solving and continuous improvement.
