Position Summary

Amkor Technology is recruiting for a Chief Accounting Officer at our headquarters in Tempe, AZ, reporting to the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer. The selected individual will be responsible for leading the global accounting and financial reporting organization and overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls for a publicly traded semiconductor company. They will lead a team of 35 members in Tempe as well as the finance shared service center and international controllers and finance teams encompassing more than 250 employees world-wide. This role requires a deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and SOX compliance. This position must show leadership capabilities to foster an environment of innovation, execution, and efficiency across all areas of responsibility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage world-wide consolidation of financial statements and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes including analytical review of the monthly operating results and reporting packages to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal controls. Ensure SOX controls and processes are strictly followed.
  • Ensure proper revenue recognition policies and inventory management, particularly relevant to the semiconductor manufacturing industry.
  • Lead the preparation and filing of 10-K, 10-Q, and other required SEC filings.
  • Partner with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Investor Relations and Operations Finance teams to provide financial insights and strategic guidance to the Executive team.
  • Collaborate with external auditors, ensuring a smooth and efficient audit process.
  • Streamline financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency, scalability and effectiveness. Leverage technology to improve financial operations and reporting. Expand shared service center world-wide offerings.
  • Work closely with IT to maintain and continuously improve the integrity of the Company’s information systems.
  • Serve as the management liaison to the audit committee; effectively communicate and present critical accounting matters at select meetings. Routinely meet with the Audit Committee Chair to discuss agenda setting and other relevant topics.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, excellence, and collaboration.
Required Qualifications
  • 20+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience including 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Multi-national public company experience is required.
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry or in a high-tech manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Early career in public accounting (Big 4 preferred).
  • BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • CPA is required.
  • In-depth knowledge and application of U.S. GAAP issues and SEC filings.
  • Expertise in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and financial reporting tools.
  • Highly motivated with strong organizational skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving capabilities. Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience working in diverse cultures worldwide.
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic, time-sensitive environments; adaptable.
  • Possesses leadership skills, excellent judgment, and overall strong business management skills.
Location

Tempe, AZ. This position has a hybrid schedule. Candidates must reside near the local Amkor office or be willing to relocate to be considered.
