A leading laboratory services provider in Toronto is seeking a Laboratory Technician for a temporary contract role. The technician will conduct sample preparation and analysis, perform method validations, and maintain laboratory instruments. A university degree or college diploma in a chemistry-related field is required along with laboratory safety training. This position involves working in a lab environment with potential for extra hours on weekends.

Qualifications

• University degree or college diploma in a chemistry-related field.
• Basic computer literacy is required.
• Laboratory safety and WHMIS training must be completed.
• Troubleshooting skills for instrument maintenance are required.
• Technical knowledge of applicable test methods is essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis.
• Perform sample extractions according to applicable SOPs.
• Analyze samples and enter data into the LIMS system.
• Conduct method validation procedures for applicable test methods.
• Maintain laboratory housekeeping at all times.
• Perform instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration.
• Track consumables inventory and request supplies.
• Follow the Quality System in the Quality Assurance Manual.
