As a Chef, you will be responsible for plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities, as well as creating meals and specialty dishes.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities
  • Consult with clients regarding events, banquets and specialty functions
  • Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
  • Estimate food requirements and may estimate food and labour costs
  • Supervise activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs and cooks
  • Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
  • Recruit and hire staff
  • May prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions.
  • May create and review new recipes
Requirements
  • Completion of secondary school is required.
  • Gastronomic school graduate (hold a valid college certificate or diploma)
  • At least 2 to 5 years of experience in commercial food preparation.
  • Experience in management training and supervision activities
  • Food Handling Certificate is an asset
