The Costing Manager is responsible for overseeing and analyzing the cost of goods sold for the category, as well as ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the data used to support informed and strategic decision‑making. They act as both a technical and operational leader, ensuring consistency, quality, and continuous improvement of costing processes within their category. The role involves close collaboration with operational finance, manufacturing plants, distribution, the Center of Excellence, the R&D team, and other internal partners.

Agropur is looking for a Cheese Cost Manager to join its team in St‑Hubert.

The Cheese Cost Manager is responsible for overseeing and analyzing the cost of goods sold within the category, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data used to support informed and strategic decisions. This role acts as a technical and operational leader, ensuring consistency, quality, and the continuous improvement of cost processes for the category. The position works closely with operational finance, plants, distribution, the Center of Excellence, the R&D team, and other internal partners.

  • Salary range 006: 98 400$ to 123 900$ (Salary will be determined based on skills, education, training & experience related to the position.)
What this role entails:
  • Supervise and participate in analyses related to the cost‑of‑goods process, ensuring deadlines are met (cost updates, new product costs, price increase mandates, mass balance, yields, etc.).
  • Recommend, validate, document, and clearly communicate cost assumptions and variance analyses.
  • Explain cost‑of‑goods concepts to internal stakeholders in an accessible way.
  • Act as the finance expert for raw materials within the category (yield, manufacturing process, support, etc.), serving as the point of contact for the R&D team to support product innovation initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with operational finance regarding operating costs and their allocations.
  • Work with the Center of Excellence to ensure alignment of CAN-USA assumptions and during the implementation of improvements (systems and processes).
  • Ensure consistency in methods for updating cost‑of‑goods in the ERP system (SAP), guaranteeing data integrity and compliance with internal controls.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing cost update frequency, visibility, and understanding of costs for the category.
What you need to join our team:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically in cost analysis or manufacturing finance
  • CPA designation, an asset
