Job Description

We are seeking a Brake Engineer to design, develop, validate, and release brake systems and components for vehicle programs. The role involves working closely with cross‑functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing to ensure brake systems meet performance, safety, durability, and cost targets. The position requires a mix of design engineering, test validation, and project management skills to deliver robust brake solutions from concept through production launch.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead design, development, and release of brake system components (calipers, rotors, boosters, master cylinders, brake lines, ABS, and ESC systems).
  • Work with suppliers to ensure component designs meet performance, durability, and safety requirements.
  • Develop and execute validation plans, including laboratory and vehicle‑level testing.
  • Analyze test data, prepare reports, and recommend design changes as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
  • Support root cause analysis and resolution of brake system issues during development and post‑launch.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, quality, and manufacturing teams to meet program timelines and cost targets.
  • Manage engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, and DFMEA/DVP&R.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or related engineering field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in brake system engineering or related automotive systems.
  • Understanding of brake system design principles and performance requirements.
  • Experience with CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, NX) for component design and packaging.
  • Familiarity with validation and testing methods for brake systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ABS, ESC, and regenerative braking systems.
  • Knowledge of brake system performance simulation tools.
  • Familiarity with ISO and FMVSS brake regulations.
  • Experience working with global suppliers and cross‑functional teams.
  • Hands‑on experience with vehicle brake testing at proving grounds.
  • Knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R, and other automotive development tools.
