Job description

As a CFX Artist, you will be responsible for delivering photo‑realistic, high‑quality simulations of cloth, hair, muscle simulations and other realistic 3D visual effects for feature films & episodic series.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create realistic and visually compelling character effects simulation (Hair, Cloth, Muscle) using industry‑standard software.
  • Iterate on simulations based on feedback from supervision and clients.
  • Creative post‑processing of simulation results using techniques like modeling and sculpting.
  • Collaborate closely with animation, modeling, rigging, and lighting departments to ensure seamless integration of CFX elements.
  • Communicate and partner with supervisors to develop and implement solutions for complex CFX challenges.
  • Maintain a high level of quality and consistency throughout the production process.
  • Troubleshoot and problem‑solve technical issues related to CFX.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Graphics, Animation, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of CFX simulation experience in live‑action visual effects for feature films, episodic or similar production environment.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional cloth, hair, muscle simulations and/or groom.
  • Proficiency in industry‑standard software such as Maya and Houdini is required.
  • Solid understanding of anatomy, physics, animation and simulation principles.
  • Excellent attention to details like character locomotion, cloth and hair behaviors.
  • Experienced delivering and completing tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to take direction and constructive criticism.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Quick learner with strong troubleshooting/problem‑solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages is a plus (Python, VEX).
  • Experience with rigging and character setup is a plus.
  • Experience in CG Grooming is a plus (Xgen/Houdini).
  • Other DCC knowledge is a plus.
