We're seeking aCertifiedMillwrightfor ourGrande Prairie, AB, sawmill, where you can utilize your Red Seal technical expertise, communication skills, and troubleshooting abilities to keep our modern sawmill operating at peak performance. Join our team and work alongside industry leaders in the forest products sector.

This role is a full-time rotating, weekday schedule (two weeks of days, 2 weeks of afternoons, and two weeks of nights, or graveyard shift) Minimum of 40 hours per week.

As a Certified Millwright, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with a high-performance team dedicated to maintaining all mill machinery, including pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers and chains, bearings, and pneumatic systems involved in the manufacturing process.
  • Keeping our systems running smoothly by performing preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance, which involves inspecting machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions. You should be comfortable working under pressure.
  • Effective time management, assessing carefully when to assemble, move, replace, or dismantle machinery.
  • Applying your knowledge, skills, and experience to troubleshoot issues, enhance equipment reliability, and implement safe, reliable fixes to keep the mill running.
  • Having great attention to detail to identify and request relevant parts for timely repairs.
  • Accountability for assisting in creating a safe work environment for coworkers, customers, and site visitors.

For this role, we are looking for candidates who:

  • Hold a Red Seal Certification
  • Have the physical capability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of urgency.
  • Have knowledge of the lumber or industrial manufacturing process (an asset).
  • Possess experience with welding procedures and equipment reliability (an asset).
