Certified Educational Assistant (part-time)

KCS is accepting applications for two part-time Educational Assistants working in Elementary School classrooms. Applicants must be comfortable working with a wide variety of learning needs. Experience working with children with disabilities is an asset.

As a CEA, you will:

  • Support the educational and social/emotional needs of students with special needs
  • Advocate for and support the purposeful inclusion of all learners in the classroom community
  • Share relevant information about the performance and behaviour of individual learners to support IEP goals, transition, and program design
  • Create materials and implement strategies to accommodate individual learner needs/style
  • Assist with the development of instructional learning resources by adapting or modifying resources and assignments
  • Foster independence by facilitating social interactions and supporting adaptations or modifications that help to ensure that the student is working at a meaningful instructional level
  • Assist teachers in the collection of data for tracking student progress (i.e., checklists to show work on IEP goals and collecting evidence of learning for IEP goals)
  • Facilitate learning through classroom support, working individually with students, and working with small groups.
  • Intentionally implement IEP goals using instructional strategies as listed on the IEP.

We currently have two part-time positions available (23-25 hours/week) starting as soon as possible. EA certification or equivalent relevant training is required. Depending on experience and certification, pay ranges from $24.61 to $29.63 per hour.
