Job summary

Asante Dental Centre is seeking a Certified Dental Assistant to join our friendly team in New Westminster. You will manage patients from check-in to check-out, assist the dentist, take digital x-rays, and help educate patients during treatment.

You will ensure room readiness, maintain sterilization standards, handle charting and documentation, and provide excellent customer service in a collaborative dental environment.

Qualifications

• CDA credential and ability to perform clinical procedures within training scope.
• Experience with sterilization and infection control procedures.
• Strong patient communication and education skills.

Job Description – Certified Dental Assistant

Asante Dental Centre strives to provide exceptional patient care by providing a comfortable and relaxing dental environment with a friendly dental team supported by high technology products to help improve patient experiences and provide an enhanced standard of dental care.

As a CDA at Asante Dental Centre, your duties will include:

• Managing patients from check-in to check-out
• Reviewing and updating health history with patients and documenting patient concerns for doctors to review
• Explaining procedures that will be done and answering any questions that the patient may have
• Showing before and after photos and patient education videos as required
• Being familiar with and able to explain services to patients, e.g., Digital x-rays, intraoral camera, VELscope, Invisalign, bleaching, etc
• Independently performing clinical procedures within the scope of training, including:
• Taking and mounting digital intraoral and panoramic x-rays accurately
• Assist dentist with clinical procedures as required
• Polishing and fluoride treatments.
• Intraoral scanning
• Completing documentation of current day’s treatment including Akitu One Charting
• Complete responsibility for the tear down and set up of treatment rooms before and after every patient, including disinfection of non-sterilizable products or surfaces in the rooms.
• Handling all sterilization procedures, including the use of barriers as needed
• Providing patients with pamphlets and discussing dental treatment
• Communicating with patients in a friendly manner and answering questions chair side
• Demonstrating care and empathy for patients
• Asking patients for referrals and thanking them for choosing our office
• Making sure that the treatment rooms are clean and everything is put away before leaving for the evening
• Being able to work independently as a team member with limited direction and supervision
• Managing hygiene supplies and asking principal CDA to order as needed
