Location: Gidney Fisheries Ltd. – Centreville, Nova Scotia
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Over the past several years, Gidney Fisheries has transformed from a traditional seafood processor into a globally recognized supplier of premium live, fresh, and frozen lobster. With expansion into new retail and wholesale markets around the world, we are investing in people, systems, and processes to support our continued growth.

We are currently seeking a Certified Accountant to join our finance team. This is a key role within the company, offering a unique opportunity to contribute directly to operational improvements and strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will work closely with our President, CFO, and experienced accounting team to drive financial efficiency and enhance reporting capabilities across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze product yields and costing across various production streams
  • Support the design and customization of ERP systems to improve operational workflows and reporting
  • Prepare detailed financial forecasts and assist with budgeting processes
  • Contribute to automation of accounting functions and month-end closing procedures
  • Assist with payroll processing and the settlement of fisherman accounts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data accuracy and business insights
Qualifications & Skills
  • CPA designation (or equivalent) required
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail
  • Experience working with ERP systems (preference given to candidates who have helped lead or support ERP customizations)
  • Proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments
