Position Overview
  • Coordinates response to patient referrals received by telephone, fax, and email.
  • Assists in the coordination, management, and maintenance of the Indigenous Health-Cultural Initiatives course sessions offered through LMS to meet established criteria.
  • Receives and coordinates requests from within the WRHA and community at large, facilitating workflow of requests throughout WRHA Indigenous Health’s various program areas. This may include, but is not limited to, supporting requests for cultural training, workshops, mentorship, community and career fairs, and patient requests.
  • Coordinates monitoring and assignment of centrally received emails to ensure appropriate ownership is assigned.
  • Reports issues as they arise to the Manager, Indigenous Health – Centralized.
  • Assists with administrative activities for senior managers/directors and ensures that all work is completed within established timeframes.
  • Takes leadership in handling matters and solves problems not requiring the direct personal attention of the supervisor(s).
  • Participates as a member of the portfolio in a manner that contributes to teamwork and collaboration.
  • Coordination of resources both internal and external to WRHA.
Experience

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize, assign referrals to applicable staff members.Ability to compose correspondence on behalf of senior managers/directors.

  • High degree of confidentiality and discretion is required.
  • Ability to prioritize a large workload and independently complete a variety of administrative duties.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate leadership and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to effectively establish priorities in an efficient and effective manner, with multiple competing priorities.
  • Ability to follow and adhere to established processes and guidelines.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Required to work for long periods of time at a computer.
