Qualifications, Experience & Ability

  • Minimum Qualifications: Valid Nova Scotia Teacher's Certificate, Master's Degree in Counselling or related field, courses in counselling skills (preferably in-person), minimum 400-hour supervised practicum including 150 hours direct client counselling and 50-75 hours group counselling.
  • Minimum Experience: 2 years teaching experience at the applicable grade level.
  • Minimum Ability: Demonstrated through interview; internal and external applicants must meet a 70% threshold.
