Job Description:

The Category & Perfect Store Manager is accountable for developing and embedding robust category strategies for mutual customer and Mars benefit, that are rooted in Consumer/Shopper Insights. This role is responsible for executing the Perfect Store program designed to transform physical availability and drive profitable NSV growth by step changing the quantity and quality of our brand execution in store.

The selected candidate will contribute significantly to the creation of local Perfect Store materials by combining professional experience, cross functional perspectives and global best practices in the creation of local tools. This includes delivering a step change in local scorecarding and capabilities by significantly contributing to the market delivery of Sales performance KPI’s.

What are we looking for?
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or related field.
  • 5+ years ’ experience in blue chip CPG/Consumer products with Category and/or Sales background (Category Management and/or Account Management).
  • Well versed in Category Management Tools & Data Sources (Nielsen, Numerator, Omni-shopper and/or Homescan).
  • Detailed knowledge of Syndicated Data: Nielsen, Shopper Insights, Numerator Panel.
  • JDA Planogram drawing an asset.
  • Deep analytical expertise and data management experience, including Advanced Excel & PowerBI skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and proven ability to develop long term, effective and influential business relationships with key decision makers, internally & externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead others to deliver mutually beneficial solutions.
  • Ability to navigate complex situations and challenge the status quo with a solution-based attitude.
What will be your key responsibilities?
  • Lead the formation, deployment and execution of Pet physical availability (distribution) strategy, including aligning the business through the planning cycle.
  • Become a program expert for the development, deployment, and reporting of Perfect Store.
  • Develop Next Best Item List and drive PQA strategy.
  • Drive National assortment strategy including disco recommendation and innovation distribution targets.
  • Continuously evaluate opportunities as an input to the S&OP+ and business planning cycle processes, including the PMR, DMR, MBR and Collaborative Planning.
  • Collaborate with the Global Perfect Store team in order to share/receive best practice and drive the long-term Mars Pet Perfect Store capability agenda.
  • Integrate with other Perfect Store enablers e.g. trade architecture, retail coverage model.
  • Partner with Sales Excellence, Sales Teams & Marketing and to align on Assortment priorities and translate into clear Pictures of Success in service of Excellence in Execution.
  • Test physical availability initiatives and once proven, embed the learnings within the business.
  • Support and partner cross functionally for global transformation workstreams from an assortment perspective.
