Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) seeks qualified Social Workers for a casual pool to cover short-term vacancies in Halton Region. The role involves counselling students and caregivers, coordinating with school staff, and providing community referrals to support student well-being and engagement.
Contracted positions are 35 hours per week with placements up to eight weeks, with potential for longer-term opportunities. A Master’s in social work and OCSW registration are required.

We are seeking qualified Social Workers to be placed in a casual pool to fill short-term vacancies during the school year. Successful candidates may be offered contracts of up to eight (8) weeks in length, and based on the needs of the schools, could be deployed anywhere within the Halton Region. This position is based on a thirty-five (35) hour week. Casual Social Workers will have the opportunity to apply for long-term temporary and/or permanent positions as they become available.

Effective Date: Immediately
Salary: $65,185 - $97,497 (as per the Collective Agreement)
Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Social Work, Social Workers are members of an integrated school team who liaise with a variety of stakeholders to ensure student success. Social Workers provide direct service and consultation to students and caregivers through counselling, community referrals, and coordinating with school staff to meet student needs. As part of a multi-disciplinary school team, Social Workers also provide consultation around strategies to enhance student engagement.
