Job summary

Securitas Canada is seeking casual security guards to join our Winnipeg team. The role involves observing and reporting activities, patrolling sites, and enforcing site rules to protect client property and people.

Qualified candidates have a valid provincial Security Guard Licence and strong customer service skills. Prior security experience is preferred; basic computer skills and ability to write logs are required. Training is provided as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid provincial Security Guard Licence.
• Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
• 1+ years of security experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of security operations and procedures.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Able to write routine logs and reports.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, for safety and property.
• Makes periodic patrols to check for irregularities and inspect protection devices.
• Preserves order and enforces regulations for the site.
• Controls access to client site through the admittance process.
• Patrols assigned site on foot or in vehicle, checks for hazards and unauthorized persons.
• Provides excellent customer service while minimizing risk to property.
• Monitors intrusion detection systems using alarm and video software.
• Uses computer systems to monitor sites and complete basic trainings.
• Protects evidence or scene of incident in emergencies or investigations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property, assets, and personnel.
• Makes periodic patrols to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.
• Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
• Controls access to client site or facility through the admittance process.
• Patrols assigned site on foot or in vehicle; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
• Satisfies client needs by providing excellent customer service while minimizing risk to the client property and assets.
• Monitors intrusion detection systems using automated alarm and video monitoring software.
• Uses computer systems and software to monitor sites and complete basic trainings.
• Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have valid provincial Security Guard License
• Must have excellent customer service and communication skills
• 1 or more years of security experience (preferred)
• Working knowledge of security operations and procedures
• Excellent organizational skills
• Able to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports
• Basic computer skills such as the ability to use Microsoft Office.
• Able to walk, stand, and conduct patrols
