Job summary

Ledcor Highways Ltd. is seeking team‑oriented individuals for winter casual road maintenance across Alberta from October 1 to April 30.

Join a safety‑driven team performing snow removal, highway maintenance and related duties in local communities, including Edmonton. On‑call shifts and night work may be required; introductory training is provided and advancement opportunities exist within Ledcor.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing completed successfully.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Valid Class 1, 2 or 3 driver’s license with air endorsement.
• Clear 3-year driver’s abstract.
• Experience operating snowplow truck or wheel loader is an asset; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Operate snowplow trucks, wheel loaders and other heavy equipment.
• Maintain Alberta Provincial Highways and assist with laborer duties.
• Be available for on-call work to support weather events and emergencies.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Ledcor Highways Ltd. is offering winter casual road maintenance opportunities across Alberta from October 1st to April 30th.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Operate snowplow trucks, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment as required
• Maintain Alberta Provincial Highways including assisting with Labourer duties (crack sealing, pothole repair, bridge and signage cleaning, hazard remediation, etc.)
• Be available for on call work to assist with weather events, emergencies and staff coverage as needed
• Work outside in all weather conditions

Qualifications:

• Successful completion pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Valid Class 1, 2 or 3 driver’s license with air endorsement
• Clear 3-year driver’s abstract
• Previous experience operating a snowplow truck and/or wheel loader is a strong asset, training provided

Work Conditions:

• As we respond to various weather patterns, some shift work, on-call, and night shift will be required
• Benefits and RSPs provided by CLAC

Rates & Premiums:

• Will be provided a base hourly rate from $27.25/hour to $31.75/hour based on experience
• Operators will be eligible to receive premiums starting at $8/hour, when performing winter maintenance operations
• Operators will be eligible to receive a premium starting at $14/hour when performing winter operations as a Class 1 operator and while operating the tow plow unit
• Candidates who live and work in Fox Creek, AB. will receive an additional $5/hr premium for all hours worked
