Overview

The City of Saint John is seeking to recruit team‑oriented, motivated casual employees to join the Transportation & Public Works team for the winter months. The incumbents will work in a multi‑faceted department responsible for maintaining outdoor and indoor Parks and Recreation facilities as well as trees, parks and landscape maintenance during the winter months, often under challenging environmental and other working conditions.

Salary $21.38 - $21.38/Hour

Job Type Temporary Full Time

Responsibilities The successful candidate will perform maintenance and landscape tasks for parks, facilities and related assets during the winter months. Duties may include outdoor and indoor facility maintenance, and adapting to new workplace technologies. Work is conducted in a municipal public service context and may involve challenging environmental conditions.

Qualifications The successful candidate will ideally have related post‑secondary education and experience in maintenance and construction work, the aptitude to learn and adapt to new workplace technologies, and the ability to develop in the municipal public service. A valid driver’s license is also required.
