Job summary

An educational institution is seeking casual teachers in Foundation Studies for STEM, Business, and IT to design and deliver curriculum, assess student progress, and mentor students. Role

Kaplan Higher Education - Murdoch College is seeking casual teachers in Foundation Studies in the areas of STEM, Business and IT. The roles involve designing and delivering curriculum, assessing student progress, providing guidance, mentoring and creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. These positions are integral to preparing students with the necessary academic, critical thinking and language skills to thrive in an undergraduate curriculum.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare course teaching materials individually, or in collaboration with other teaching team members
  • Deliver lessons in a professional manner
  • Deliver 1 hour of consultation (per unit per week) for students outside of scheduled teaching hours
  • Mark assessments within the allocated timeframe, record results in the LMS, and participate in college moderation processes as required
  • Provide marking feedback to the Director, Learning and Teaching
  • Ensure class attendance is taken and recorded
Requirements
  • Degree in relevant discipline (essential)
  • Qualifications and experience in teaching international students at Foundation or Diploma level (essential)
  • Experience in working with international students (essential)
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated background in professional development endeavours (desirable)
  • Valid Working with Children Check (will be required to obtain WWCC)
