Position

Taproot Community Support Services, is building our 24/7 CASUAL FLOAT POOL to work a variety of shifts as a Community Disability Support Worker, covering staff illness, leaves, vacation etc.

  • AVAILABILITY to work: day, night (sleep) or Night (awake) shifts

LOCATION: Group homes, private homes or community in Edmonton, Alberta

WHEN DO I WORK? Set your availability and claim any available open shifts.

HOW MUCH WILL I MAKE? $20/hr plus pay in lieu of benefits

WHEN CAN I START? Complete the signup process, provide required security clearances and start as soon as possible!

In Your Role You Will
  • Guide and support persons with developmental disabilities, autism, mental health issues &/or FASD in a group home or private home setting
  • Model socially appropriate behaviors (for the individual and the community).
  • Administer medical administration or first aid, according to prescribed procedures.
  • Receive training for: Non-violent Crisis Intervention, First Aid, Suicide Prevention, etc.
  • Prior to confirmation of employment, all applicants must provide a copy of a current Criminal Record Check and/or Government Screening Letter. These checks vary depending on province and sector and will be communicated by the Program Hiring Team.
As An Ideal Candidate You Possess
  • High School Diploma
  • Related experience - educational assistant, healthcare aide, social services worker, youth worker
  • A Driver’s License
  • Clear criminal record and social services intervention check
