Overview

Casual Bus Driver — Competition #3880

Chinook School Division is seeking applications for Casual Bus Driver positions throughout the division at the following locations: Shaunavon (SEIU) - 3 Positions; Vanguard (SEIU) - 2 Positions; Val Marie (SEIU) - 2 Positions.

The Chinook School Division serves over 6,000 students in 60 schools, with more than 1,000 teachers and support staff. The division is located in Saskatchewan’s Southwest and is committed to guiding principles of Communication, Shared Responsibility, Positive Relationships and Ongoing Monitoring and Improvement. Casual employees are contacted to work on an “as-needed” basis. Working casually provides flexibility to choose locations and shifts. Casual employees are important members of the Chinook team and receive competitive wages as well as pension benefits. Some training opportunities may be available to ensure casual employees are equipped with the skills to work in various roles throughout the division.

  • Attach a signed SGI Driver Abstract Authorization to your application.
  • Candidates who are shortlisted will be contacted for an interview.
  • Following a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to obtain their “S Endorsement”.
S Endorsement Process
  1. Pick up a driver handbook from your local SGI office or the transportation department.
  2. Submit a Bus Driver Medical to SGI (arrange with your health care professional).
  3. Complete and obtain approval for the medical, then book your written exam with SGI.
  4. Contact Chinook’s Driver Assessor to arrange Chinook Driver Training.
  5. Book your road test with SGI.
  6. After successful completion, submit a copy of your S Endorsement certification to Human Resources.
