Job description

The Town of Arnprior is currently inviting applications for casual bartenders for its’ Community Hall at the Nick Smith Centre. Employment will be on an on-call basis, as the Community Hall bar services are required. The majority of shifts will take place from Friday to Sunday (including some holidays) during the hours of 5:00 pm to 2:00 am, with some afternoon requirements.

Primary responsibilities for the Casual Bartender position include (but not limited to) the following:

  • Responsible to comply with Ontario liquor legislation and regulations
  • Opening and closing the bar
  • Provide courteous customer service, possess knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and basic preparation
  • Process cash and debit/credit transactions following appropriate procedures
  • Maintain a safe, clean and welcoming work area
  • Maintain sale transactions and inventory records
  • Follow internal procedures
  • Must adhere to COVID-19 procedures and protocols

The successful candidate will have as a minimum the following qualifications:

  • Must be the legal age to serve alcohol in Ontario (mandatory 18 years of age)
  • Completion of or willing to complete Smart Serve Ontario training
  • Previous customer service, server, or bartending experience
  • Completion of secondary education will be considered an asset.
