The Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine is pleased to announce they are searching for Casual Animal Shelter Attendant to join their dedicated team. This position offers a competitive hourly rate ranging from $28.87/hr to $33.15/hr.

Purpose Statement:
The Casual Animal Shelter Attendant is a junior position providing weekend, vacation, and sick day coverage for the Thornhill Animal Shelter. The position is primarily responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the facilities, care and keeping of impounded animals, and extended duties such as answering phones, responding to minor inquiries, and taking messages as required. Reporting to the Director of Development Services and with guidance from the Animal Control Officer Supervisor, the attendant will follow shelter procedures as they fulfil their duties with minimal supervision.

Assisting other Thornhill Animal Shelter staff and collaborating with staff from other departments as necessary, providing service to the public.

Most of the work is conducted at the Thornhill Animal Shelter, which includes cleaning and maintaining shelter facilities and caring for the animals.
