Job summary

Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited is seeking a dynamic Lounge Server to provide outstanding guest experiences in a fast-paced dining setting. You will engage guests, promote events and products, and contribute to brand loyalty.

Training and a competitive wage are offered within a national group with 27+ locations. Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in high-volume dining, cash-handling skills, and relevant certificates (Serving It Right/Proserve/Smart Serve, Food Safe 1).

Qualifications

• Two years or more experience in a high-volume restaurant environment.
• Cash handling experience using POS system.
• Tourism, promotion, marketing, entertainment or event training preferred.
• Serving It Right (BC)/ Proserve (Alberta)/ Smart Serve (Ontario).
• World Host / Super Host certificate or similar customer service training.
• Proven selling, marketing and service skills in dining, retail or promotions.
• Food Safe Level 1 certificate.
• Effective public speaking and presence.
• Ability to carry up to 30 pounds with a full serving tray.
• Knowledge of specialty food and beverage items.
• In-house knowledge tests for items and service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Maintains expert knowledge of products, events and promotions.
• Takes orders, Expedites and serves food and beverages within time guidelines.
• Participates in promotional activities including social media and events.
• Introduces or presents live entertainment as required.

Key Responsibilities

What You Bring

• Two years or more experience in a similar high-volume restaurant (casual dining) environment.
• Cash handling experience using POS system or cashier register.
• Tourism, promotion, marketing, entertainment or event training experience preferred.
• Serving It Right (BC)/ Proserve (Alberta) certificate/ Smart Serve (Ontario).
• World Host / Super Host certificate or other similar customer service programs preferred.
• Proven selling, marketing, and service skills in a dining, retail, or promotions environment.
• Food Safe Level 1 certificate.
• Effective public speaking skills and presence.
• Ability to carry up to 30 pounds, specifically a fully loaded serving tray.
• Knowledge of specialty food and beverage items.
• Successful In-house testing on knowledge of specialty food and beverage items.
• Successful In-house testing on service delivery and promotional ability.
