Job summary

Giant Tiger is seeking a Cashier (Temporary) in Scarborough, Ontario. You will ensure a high level of customer service at the checkouts and accurately record transactions on cash registers, mainline, and SCOs. Replenish merchandise and maintain a clean, safe checkout area.

You will follow health and safety policies and loss prevention practices, including Tobacco and Lottery sales compliance. The role offers day/evening shifts with a 35-40 hour week for full-time or up to 24 hours weekly for

About This Role

What you’ll be doing: Ensures a high level of customer service at the checkouts; Accurately records customer transactions in electronic cash register, mainline and self checkouts (SCOs); Replenish merchandise around the checkout area; Ensuring health and safety policies and guidelines are followed; Ensuring the checkout work area is kept clean and organized; Ensuring Loss prevention best practices are followed; Ensuring compliance of all policies when selling Tobacco and Lottery.

When You’ll Work

A typical full-time schedule will consist of day shifts, two evenings per week, and alternating weekends with a schedule of 35-40 hours weekly. A typical part-time schedule will be a mix of days, evenings and weekends, up to 24 hours weekly.
