Job summary

Powell River Educational Services Society is seeking a customer service oriented individual for a part or full-time position in Powell River. You will greet customers, process sales, stock shelves, and assist with deliveries while maintaining a clean, organized store environment.

This role requires flexibility in hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Prospective employees should have reliable transportation and a strong attention to detail,

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with finding items or answering questions.
• Process checkout transactions and handle purchases and returns.
• Stock shelves, arrange displays, and ensure proper labeling.
• Assist with deliveries, apply FIFO, and verify order accuracy; maintain store cleanliness.
• Provide relief for Gas Dock employees as needed.
• Offer product recommendations based on customer needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

List of Duties

• Greet customers and provide assistance with finding items or answering questions
• Perform the checkout process for customers; handle all transactions and duties related to purchases and returns
• Stock shelves and coolers, arrange displays, and ensure merchandise is properly labeled and stored
• Assist with incoming deliveries by putting out order items, following the FIFO method and checking orders for accuracyMaintain a clean and organized store environment (i.e. dusting, sweeping, mopping, cleaning up spills, facing and fronting etc.)
• Provide relief for the Gas Dock employees
• Assist with product selection and make recommendations based on customer needs
• Other related duties as assigned by management.
