Job summary

Shoppers Drug Mart is seeking a frontline team member to deliver health, beauty and convenience services in Bedford. You will help customers at checkout, assist with merchandising, and ensure a welcoming store environment.

Qualifications

• Retail or pharmacy environment experience preferred.
• Cash handling and POS experience a plus.
• Strong customer-service orientation and communication skills.
• Able to stay organized and efficient in a busy store.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and greet customers.
• Maintain a neat and organized checkout area.
• Accurately scan or enter product data at checkout.
• Process cash, coupon, lottery, and PC Optimum transactions.
• Encourage customers to use PC Optimum card.
• Merchandise and maintain designated areas (facing, signing, labeling).
• Follow loss prevention standards and controls for cash and inventory.
• Adhere to uniform policy, dress code, and health and safety guidelines.
• Perform other duties as required.

Duties & Responsibilities

CUSTOMER SERVICE:

• Provides excellent customer service and positively engages with all customers
• Maintains a neat and organized checkout area
• Greets all customers and displays warm demeanor
• Accurately scans or enters product data
• Accurately accounts for cash and coupon, lottery, and PC Optimum
• Asks for customer’s PC Optimum Card during each transaction

Merchandising

• Ensures proper documentation completed with respect to customers receipt and return of goods
• Merchandises and maintains designated areas (i.e., facing, signing, labeling, etc)

Loss Prevention

• Ensures loss prevention Standards are followed
• Controls cash, lottery, and stamp inventory

General

• Presents proper image to the public in accordance with Uniform Policy and Dress Code Guidelines
• Complies with all health and safety regulations
• Complies with all store policies and procedures
• Ensures the standards of housekeeping and image are maintained
• Perform other duties as required
