Job summary

North Central Co-op in Stony Plain, Alberta, is hiring a part-time Cashier at our Home Centre. Open availability is an asset and you’ll join a cooperative that serves Western Canadian communities.

You will provide prompt, friendly service; handle transactions; and support front-end merchandising. Prior Home Centre or building materials experience is a plus, and teamwork is valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable service.
• Scan and process transactions efficiently; resolve inquiries.
• Handle cash, credit and debit; bag groceries.
• Stock and clean front-end areas; face shelves in till area.
• Open/close registers; reconcile tills per procedures.
• Other duties as required.

What you'll do

• Provide a high level of prompt, friendly and knowledgeable service
• Scan and process transactions in an efficient manner, resolving customer inquiries as needed
• Handle cash, credit and debit transactions in addition to bagging customer groceries
• Stock and clean the front-end merchandising areas including facing of shelves in the till area
• Complete opening and closing of registers, reconciling tills following established procedures
• Other duties as required
