Shoppers Drug Mart is seeking a customer-service oriented associate to support health, beauty, and convenience offerings in a local store in Ontario. You will assist customers, operate the checkout, and ensure accurate cash handling.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, scanning products, managing PC Optimum transactions, and maintaining an organized checkout area. The role emphasizes reliability, teamwork, and adherence to policies while providing friendly service.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and ability to upsell/assist customers.
• Strong cash handling and basic math accuracy.
• Ability to operate POS system and scanning.
• Organized, detail oriented, and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain neat and organized checkout area and greet customers.
• Scan or enter product data accurately during checkout.
• Handle cash, coupons, lottery, and PC Optimum transactions.
• Request PC Optimum card during each transaction.
• Merchandise and maintain designated areas with proper signage.
• Follow loss prevention standards and manage cash/lottery inventory.
• Present a professional image per uniform policy and safety rules.
• Adhere to store policies and health and safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as required.

SUMMARY:

• Maintain excellent customer service and checkout area

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

CUSTOMER SERVICE:

• Provides excellent customer service and positively engages with all customers
• Maintains a neat and organized checkout area
• Greets all customers and displays warm demeanor
• Accurately scans or enters product data
• Accurately accounts for cash and coupon, lottery, and PC Optimum
• Asks for customer’s PC Optimum Card during each transaction

MERCHANDISING:

• Ensures proper documentation completed with respect to customers receipt and return of goods
• Merchandises and maintains designated areas (i.e., facing, signing, labeling, etc)

LOSS PREVENTION:

• Ensures loss prevention Standards are followed
• Controls cash, lottery, and stamp inventory

GENERAL:

• Presents proper image to the public in accordance with Uniform Policy and Dress Code Guidelines
• Complies with all health and safety regulations
• Complies with all store policies and procedures
• Ensures the standards of housekeeping and image are maintained
• Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Planning, Judgement and Decision Making
• Balance teamwork and efficiency in processing the customer order
• Organization and neatness
• Efficiency in processing the customer order

EXPERIENCE:

• Strong computer and register skills
• Well organized with the ability to record keep
