The Squamish Nation’s Ayás Mén̓men Child and Family Services Department is seeking a Case Social Worker to provide critical support in a culturally rich and community-focused environment. What You’ll Do
  • Provide delegated (C4) social work services, acting on behalf of the Director as the legal guardian of Squamish children in care (including off-reserve children).
  • Manage a semi-advanced caseload, offering prevention support, guardianship, and family resource services.
  • Collaborate with families, community resources, and cultural supports to ensure safety, protection, and well-being of children.
  • Maintain confidential case records, assessments, and reports in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
  • Deliver complex information with empathy and cultural sensitivity, ensuring families understand processes and rights.
  • Work within Sḵwx̱wú7mesh teachings to uphold traditional family values and community connections.
What We’re Looking For
  • A combination of education and experience in Social Work, Child & Family Services, or a related field.
  • Delegated C4 status (or eligibility) under BC’s Child, Family, and Community Service Act.
  • Strong interpersonal skills—able to engage with families, community members, and professionals with diplomacy and respect.
  • High emotional intelligence, patience, and integrity in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize complex cases.
  • Cultural awareness and deep respect for Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw values, language, and traditions.
  • Resourcefulness—able to connect families with appropriate supports and advocate for their needs.

Salary: $75,000 - $112,500

Candidates are typically offered compensation between the beginning to the midpoint of the range. We are committed to providing a fair and equitable package that reflects the value an individual brings to the organization.
