Case Manager

The Town of Windsor Youth Services Bureau (YSB) seeks a dynamic individual to fill an exciting part-time position as a Case Manager. The YSB encourages youth to strive for excellence, integrity, and community spirit by providing programs that focus on enrichment activities, social skills development, problem-solving, community involvement, and leadership development.

The Position

The position supports the program efforts of restorative justice with the YSB. The work is performed under the direction of the Youth Services Coordinator.

  • Leads or assists with intake and assessments of youth referred to the YSB or Juvenile Review Board, follow-up, referrals, and related programming.
  • Facilitate restorative justice practices—including circles, mediations, and conferences that promote accountability, healing, and relationship repair.
  • Develop and monitor individualized diversion plans that may include community service, counseling, mentoring, and skill-building opportunities.
  • Integrate trauma-informed principles (safety, trust, choice, collaboration, empowerment) in all interactions with youth and families.
  • Assist in the identification of school referral characteristics
  • Works closely with and coordinates efforts with schools, police, courts, and public/private agencies.
  • Collaborate with families to strengthen engagement and connect them to supportive community resources.
  • Track, document, and report youth progress and program outcomes in a timely manner.
  • Uphold restorative justice values of dignity, respect, empathy, and inclusion in every aspect of the diversion process.
  • Provides support, de-escalation, and conflict resolution to young people, their families, and/or the community.
  • Provides positive leadership and serves as a role model to program participants.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field with one year of related positive youth development experience; or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Driver's license with good driving record.
  • Flexibility to work some evening and weekend hours.
  • Commitment to cultural humility and experience working with diverse populations.
  • Strong knowledge of adolescent development, family systems, and the effects of trauma on behavior.
Compensation and Schedule
  • Pay Rate: $21 to $25 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
  • Schedule: 19 hrs. weekly with flexible time to complete work assigned.
