The Carrier Relations Analyst is responsible for record keeping, go to person for reports, audits and process improvement recommendations with regards to the carrier services operations. As the Carrier Relations Analyst, you will be a key member of the Carrier Services Team and have the main responsibility of managing the carrier services database, (Quickbase and Cacti), contract management and invoice & billing analysis. As part of the Carrier Services team’s mandate on budget management, you will also be supporting the project coordinators on network optimization and cost‑saving initiatives. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Carrier Services with a preferred work location in Markham, Ontario.

Key responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records of circuit inventory, contracts, and service‑level agreements in Quickbase and Sharepoint.
  • Maintain up to date vendor data for the organization including vendor maps (KMZs) on‑net lists, vendor contacts and escalation lists.
  • Review and validate vendor invoice data and be able to reconcile it to both contracts and Quickbase records.
  • Work with the team on vendor audits and data validation projects.
  • Prepare vendor reports and analytics across various metrics.
  • Maintain project trackers (Excel, Access, Quickbase).
  • Act as a liaison between internal teams and carriers for issue resolution, escalations, and service outages.
  • Interface with the Data Scientists and programmers for Quickbase enhancements.
  • Work with Finance on Purchase Orders and invoice processes, as required.
  • Coordinate with network operations centre on service escalations to the vendors.
  • Match invoices in to Purchase Orders prior to Purchase Order approval in collaboration with the project coordinators.
  • Maintain up to date vendor data for the organization including vendor maps, on‑net lists, contacts and escalation lists.
  • Constantly work to identify any off‑net consolidation and optimisation opportunities.
  • Act as liaison for the organization with the vendor in resolving any billing or service issues that may arise.
  • Help in identifying process gaps and document process maps.
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Ideal candidate
  • Engineering Degree (Electrical or Computer Science) is preferred or BS Business Administration.
  • Minimum 3 years of Carrier Relations, Purchasing, Cost Management, or Data Analysis in a service provider environment.
  • Knowledge of typical Service Provider IP/Ethernet & wavelength service offerings.
  • Knowledge of Quickbase.
  • Experience with GIS packages such as Google Earth, QGIS, MapPoint or Map Info is highly valued.
  • Relationship management – ability to develop and maintain productive stakeholder relationships.
  • Highly organised, ability to multi‑task and detail oriented.
  • Solid technical writing, presentation and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Experience with financial planning, reporting, and tracking highly valued.
  • Experience with contracts highly valued.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
