Job summary

Canadian Tire Corporation, Mississauga, is seeking a Transportation Analyst to improve efficiency and service in our transportation processes. You will analyze data and processes, present findings and cost/benefit analyses, and drive solutions with cross‑functional teams.

You will build reports and dashboards in Power BI/Tableau/Excel, using Python for data processing as needed, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining knowledge of Canadian transportation

Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary education in Business, Logistics or Engineering.
  • Advanced Excel (Macros, Pivot Tables) and Access skills.
  • Foundational Python with Pandas and NumPy; willingness to learn more advanced tools.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and action opportunities to improve efficiency and/or service by applying continuous improvement methodologies to Transportation processes.
  • Analyse topics from data and process, present findings with key information and issues and potential solutions.
  • Develop & present Cost / Benefit Analyses
  • Contribute to or lead investigation of business requests
  • Perform analysis of business requirements to assess cost or feasibility and research solutions
  • Provide input and recommendations on business processes and/or technical issues
  • Contribute to identification, analysis, improvement and recommendations of solutions (systems and process)
  • Evaluate cost impact of carrier contract offers and supports creation / presentation of negotiations materials
  • Provide regular feedback on the quality of the transportation plan, and suggest improvements
  • Analyze KPIs to identify areas of concern with stakeholders to rectify them
  • Provide feedback to development of delivery template based on road, rail, and barge operations
  • Maintain current knowledge of Canadian transportation acts and regulations including TDG

Job description

What You’ll Do:
  • Identify and action opportunities to improve efficiency and/or service by applying continuous improvement methodologies to Transportation processes
  • Analyse various topics as assigned (data and process), from the simple to the complex, presenting findings, including key information and issues, as well as potential solutions.
  • Develop & present Cost / Benefit Analyses
  • Contribute to or lead investigation of business requests
  • Perform analysis of business requirements to assess cost or feasibility and research solutions
  • Provide input and recommendations on business processes and/or technical issues
  • Contribute to identification, analysis, improvement and recommendations of solutions (systems and process)
  • Evaluate cost impact of carrier contract offers and supports creation / presentation of appropriate negotiations support materials
  • Provide regular feedback on the quality of the transportation plan, and suggest improvements
  • Analyze key performance indicators to identify areas of concern, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to rectify them
  • Provide feedback to the development of delivery template based on road, rail service offering and barge operations
  • Maintain current knowledge of Canadian transportation acts and regulations, including transportation of dangerous goods
What You Bring:
  • Post-Secondary education in Business, Logistics or Engineering
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (e.g. Macros, Pivot Tables) and Access (e.g. Macros, Queries, Reporting) skills
  • Foundational Python programming skills, with experience using libraries such as Pandas and NumPy; willingness to learn more advanced tools (e.g., scikit learn).
  • Experience building reports and dashboards using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Excel
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving, planning and organizational skills
  • Skilled at managing multiple tasks, setting and tracking own milestones, and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communications skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Familiarity with project management and continuous improvement methodologies is an asset

Location : Mississauga, Ontario (Hybrid: In-office 4 days a week)

Broadband Salary Range: $53,000 – $88,000.
Ourtypical hiring range is between $53,000 and $70,000. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role‑specific requirements. For critical roles, the compensation offering will be reviewed to ensure alignment with market rate and conditions and the unique value you bring to the role.
