Job summary

First Onsite Restoration in New Brunswick invites a Carpenter I to learn from seasoned tradespeople and support restoration and rebuild projects. You’ll take pride in quality work and helping families and businesses recover.

As an intern, you’ll work alongside senior carpenters on framing, drywall, painting, flooring, and finishing. You’ll keep job sites safe, organized, and productive while building your skills and a lasting career.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in construction, carpentry, or restoration.
• Basic knowledge of carpentry, building maintenance, and job site safety practices.
• Proficient with mobile devices and basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools and follow instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
• Reliable, hardworking, and eager to learn from experienced professionals.
• Valid full class driver's license and clear driver's abstract.
• Fit test and other safety certifications.
• Must be able to work overtime, weekends and participate in rotating on-call schedule.
• Ability to complete work activities that may involve material handling, lifting, climbing, and PPE gear

Responsibilities

• Assist senior carpenters on framing, drywall, painting, flooring, and finishing work.
• Prepare and clean job sites, handle materials, and operate hand and power tools safely.
• Assist with installation and repair work meeting company safety and quality standards.
• Handle drywall patching or trim work as needed; some days involve demolition or emergency repairs.
• Stay organized, communicate with supervisor, and maintain safety at all times.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CARPENTER

You'll assist with installation and repair work, ensuring every task meets company standards for quality and safety. Some days you might help with drywall patching or trim work, while others could involve demolition or emergency repairs. You'll stay organized, communicate with your supervisor, and always keep safety front of mind. Every day is a chance to learn, grow, and contribute to projects that make a visible difference for our customers.
