Job summary

A private employer in Victoria is seeking Personal Support Workers to assist with daily living activities for a male client. Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities including personal care and feeding.
• Perform general housekeeping and assist with laundry.
• Help with mobility and ROM exercises as instructed.

Job description

We are recruiting for 3 Personal Support Workers to assist a private male employer with all activities of daily living. The employer enjoys spending time outside in nature, watching movies, and listening to music.

The ideal candidate will have a sense of humor, be reliable, positive, and curious. Someone who is willing to learn, has strong problem solving skills, isn’t anxious and has patience.

Location:

• Victoria, BC (Saanich, Tanner Ridge area-not on a bus route)

Shifts & Hours of Work:

• (One Caregiver) Monday :8:30am-2:00pm Tuesday-Friday: 8:30am-1:30pm
  (One Caregiver) Monday: 1:45pm-6:45pm Tuesday-Friday: 1:15pm-6:15pm
  (One Caregiver) Monday: 6pm-10pm Saturday-Sunday: 8:30am-3:30pm

Compensation:

• $30.00 an hour

Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):

• Personal care including showering, drying, toileting, suctioning, and dressing
  Assisting with feeding and medication administration through g-tube
  General housekeeping, laundry, and cleaning equipment
  Assist with ROM exercises after being taught by physio
  Assist with outings
  Stand and pivot transfers

Required Qualifications:

• Experience with ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis)
  Experience with disabilities, and personal care
  Bi-pap and tube feeding experience
  RN/LPN or other healthcare experience is an asset
  Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and willing to obtain booster every year
  Up to date flu shot, must be willing to obtain yearly
  Willing to wear a mask on request
  Strong understanding of English
  Valid Driver’s License
  Non-smoker of any kind
  Strong enough to help move employer to a sitting position
