Job summary

Interior Health is seeking an experienced Community Health Worker to join the team at Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre in Lillooet, BC. You will provide home support services, assist with personal care, and promote independence for clients staying at home as part of a nurse-led team.

Typical duties include daily personal care, meal preparation, mobility assistance, and reporting changes in client condition.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 is required.
  • Graduation from a recognized Resident Care Aide/Home Support Worker Program or equivalent.
  • BC Care Aide and Community Health Worker registry must be included.
  • Current valid BC Driver's License and use of a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Activities of daily personal care such as bathing, dressing, grooming and oral hygiene.
  • Household duties to maintain a safe and healthy home environment.
  • Meal preparation according to designated plans.
  • Assistance with mobility and transfers.
  • Observing and reporting changes in client behaviour and condition.
  • Performing delegated tasks according to training and procedures.

About the Job

As a Community Health Worker, you will work as part of a dynamic team of Nurses and LPNs who support Community Clients’ independence and ability to stay at home. Community Health Workers provide home support services to clients, by assisting with personal care and daily living, while promoting maximum independence. Community Health Workers are key players in the home health care plan for each client.

Typical duties include:

  • Activities of daily personal care, such as bathing, dressing, grooming and oral hygiene

  • Assistance with mobility and transfers

This is a Permanent Part Time (0.98) opportunity. Shifts of work will be scheduled days and evenings rotating from 07:00 to 15:30, 13:00 to 21:30 hours.
