Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System is seeking a Cardiology Technician to perform stress testing, EEGs, and holter monitoring while ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to safety policies.

The role requires a high school diploma and BLS certification at hire, with preferred EKG knowledge and medical terminology familiarity. You will work in an environment focused on patient-centered care and clinical collaboration.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • BLS certification from AHA/ARC or Military Training Network required at hire in all units, unless ACLS/PALS already held.
  • Previous knowledge of EKGs preferred.
  • Medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Knows, understands, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
  • Demonstrates compliance with hospital safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills to care for all age groups (Neonate, Child, Adult, Geriatric as applicable).
  • Performs EEG studies, stress testing (including adenosine, Lexi, treadmill), and Holter/event monitoring per protocol.
  • Communicates procedures to the patient in a professional manner.
  • Edits clinical information accurately per physician interpretation.
  • Charges testing accurately and maintains daily records per protocol.

CARDIOLOGY TECHNICIAN

Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description:

SUMMARY:

Performs stress testing, EEGs (Electroencephalography), applies holter monitors, event monitors, records, processes associated paperwork, charge capture and daily revenue review.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma required.

  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS.

  • Previous knowledge of EKGs preferred.

  • Medical terminology preferred.

HOURS: Four 9.5 hours a day - enjoying three days off each week.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.

  • Demonstrates compliance with hospital safety policies and procedures.

  • Ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients.

  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Neonate, Child, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric as applicable).

  • Performs, EEG (Electroencephalography Study), Stress testing including adenosine stress, Lexi Stress, treadmill stress testing and holter monitoring/event monitoring hook-ups according to standard protocol.

  • Communicates procedures to the patient in a professional manner.

  • Edits clinical information accurately and according to physician interpretation.

  • Charges testing appropriately and maintains daily records according to standard protocol.
