Job summary

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mining, Geological, Chemical, or Civil Engineering.
  • 5+ years of direct experience in project or construction engineering, preferably mining.
  • PMP certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead capital projects end-to-end (scoping, planning, design, procurement, execution, and commissioning) ensuring safe, on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Build project charters, cost estimates, and business cases in collaboration with site stakeholders.
  • Develop and communicate execution strategies, schedules, and cost management plans.
  • Coordinate resources and activities across Seabee teams, stakeholders, and contractors.
  • Supervise contractors directly during construction, ensuring work stays within scope and is performed safely.
  • Identify project risks and opportunities early, and manage variances with clear reporting to stakeholders.
  • Run stakeholder meetings to align on goals and gather input throughout the project.
  • Champion site safety standards in everything you do.

This small project team works alongside a multi-disciplinary team to deliver on SSR's core project principles (Safety, Quality, Scope, Schedule, and Cost) in support of the Capital Project program at Seabee.This role requires someone comfortable moving between the office and the field, building strong business cases, review drawings, while supervising contractors on-site during execution. The chosen candidate will be required to fly in / fly out of the site on designated days from a pick-up point in either Saskatoon, Prince Albert or La Ronge. This role includes a competitive compensation package, which includes participation in the Short-Term Incentive Plan (STIP), providing a targeted but non-guaranteed bonus based upon your and the company’s annual performance.
