Job summary

PwC Canada's Capital Markets Accounting Advisory Services (CMAAS) team seeks a Manager to lead clients through capital market transactions and accounting change projects. You’ll guide teams, develop solutions, and deliver insightful reports and financial statements, while coaching junior staff and strengthening client relationships.

You’ll collaborate across advisory teams, apply GenAI tools, and contribute to PwC’s growth and reputational integrity in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• CPA designation or equivalent required.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP and ASPE and how they apply to IPOs and capital transactions.
• Proven ability to interpret complex financial issues and provide pragmatic recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills to present to senior leadership.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to mentor junior staff and foster collaboration.

Responsibilities

The Capital Markets Accounting Advisory Services team (“CMAAS”) at PwC is a high performing and fast-growing practice within PwC and Globally. The team is committed to supporting clients through moments of exceptional change by providing accounting advisory services. These services include accounting advice to our clients through acquisitions and divestitures, accounting change, restructuring and capital transactions, such as IPOs, and digital transformation projects. A career within CMAAS will provide you with the opportunity to be responsible for supporting our clients as they navigate some of their most complex financial reporting issues and transactions. You'll tackle client’s needs with a solution-oriented approach that creatively addresses complex accounting and reporting problems for high profile transactions, and you’ll have significant interaction with senior company management, bankers, lawyers and other advisers.

• Leading teams and our clients through capital market transactions including IPO readiness, and other market transactions (i.e. BAR Reports, capital raising and pro forma financial statements).
• Leading teams working with our clients through various accounting change projects including GAAP conversions in contemplation of a transaction, implementation of accounting policy changes, and new accounting standards.
• Support our Deals teams with accounting implications on specific transactions (i.e. buy side, sell side, valuations, business combination, consolidation accounting, divestitures, etc.).
• Work with project teams and our clients to prepare or review accounting whitepapers, diagnostic reports, complex accounting calculations, quarterly/annual financial statements and management reporting to drive insights.
• Take a leading role in developing an understanding of our clients’ specific issues and contributing to the development of the appropriate project plan and deliverables to meet their needs.
• Coach others, recognize their strengths, and encourage them to take ownership of their personal development.
• Contribute actively to supporting our brand and culture as a high performing team of accounting advisory professionals.
• Collaborate amongst the team to work flexibly and respond promptly to ad hoc requests by clients, taking ownership of your own portfolio of jobs and clients.
• Focus on the details of the project as well as quality.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues and clients while consistently demonstrating the firm’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.
• Leverage a broad range of analytical tools, techniques, and GenAI solutions to identify insights from emerging business trends, drive value across client projects and internal initiatives, support project delivery, and foster strong client relationships.

What You’ll bring:

• Proven technical expertise: Qualified Canadian CPA or equivalent reciprocal/recognized designation and experience with technical accounting, corporate finance, advisory, or audit roles, with exposure to capital markets transactions, acquisitions/ divestitures, and IPO readiness.
• Deep Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting standards, regulatory frameworks (IFRS, US GAAP and ASPE), and market practices governing IPOs, capital raisings, and other transactions.

• Excellent Communication Skills: Skilled at articulating complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences including senior leadership.

The salary range for this position is $84,700 - $134,700. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may have opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm-wide achievements.
