Job summary

The Cree First Nation of Waswanipi is seeking a dedicated CAM Project Coordinator – Maintenance to lead the modernization of the Capital Asset Management system within the Public Works Department. You will coordinate the integration of software, manage asset data, and support preventive maintenance planning for municipal facilities and housing.

Training will be provided and the role requires strong organization, data accuracy, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • Two-year college diploma in a relevant field.
  • 1–2 years of related experience or training.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the implementation of the CAM modernization project with staff and departments.
  • Collect, organize, and enter data into databases with accurate asset records.
  • Review data for deficiencies or errors and correct inconsistencies.
  • Research and obtain additional information for incomplete records.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and records.
  • Respond to information requests and access project files.
  • Ensure data integrity and security policy compliance.
  • Generate reports and maintain organized records of work performed.
  • Assist with backup operations and storage systems.
  • Engage in regional forums related to CAM initiatives.
  • Support preventive maintenance planning and asset management activities.

Public Works Department
The Cree First Nation of Waswanipi is presently seeking a resourceful and highly motivated individual for the position of Capital Asset Management (CAM) Project Coordinator – Maintenance under the Public Works Department.

The core function of this position is to act as the local coordinator for the modernization of the Capital Asset Management (CAM) project, which will provide modern management and IT tools for the operations and maintenance (O&M) of municipal facilities and housing.

Duties and Responsibilities

The CAM Project Coordinator – Maintenance will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

  • Coordinate the implementation of the Capital Asset Management modernization project with relevant staff and departments
  • Collect, organize, and enter data into databases while maintaining accurate records of capital asset information
  • Review data for deficiencies or errors and correct inconsistencies when required
  • Research and obtain additional information for incomplete records and documentation
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and records
  • Respond to requests for information and access relevant project files
  • Ensure compliance with data integrity and security policies and procedures
  • Generate reports and maintain organized records of completed work
  • Perform backup operations and maintain designated storage systems
  • Participate in regional forums and exchanges related to the modernization of capital asset management initiatives
  • Support preventive maintenance planning and asset management activities
Employment Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Two (2) year college diploma
  • One (1) to two (2) years of related experience and/or training
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
  • Training will be provided
Language Requirements
  • Must be able to speak Cree and English
  • French is considered an asset
Skills and Qualifications
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong organizational and data management skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Licensing Requirements
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence required
  • Additional licence classes are considered an asset

  • Work Schedule: 80 hours bi-weekly
  • Salary Range: According to qualifications and salary scale
