Canola Market Expansion Agronomist

This position focuses on :

• customers choosing Bayer as their preferred provider for their Canola operation;
• enabling customer facing teams to run their local business for the benefit of customers and Bayer; and
• enhancing DEKALB Canola market presence in Southern Saskatchewan through technical expertise and data-driven insights, ensuring successful Canola systems approach to maximize sales potential.

This is a 13-month term, home-based position based out of Regina, supporting Southern Saskatchewan.

What you will do :

• Drive confidence in Canola performance within the marketplace through both data generation and demand generation, collaborate with local work teams (Sales, Field Solutions, Breeding and Market Development) through targeted testing in Southern Saskatchewan;
• Present relevant field insights (Seed / CP combined) to local teams, customers and partners;
• Compile and communicate key performance data and insights to commercial teams for DEKALB canola;
• Serve as the technical expert on local market and customer needs, supporting product placement and enhancing internal and external technical leadership, demonstrate clear value of our Canola system solution, building a platform that includes both seed and crop protection to stakeholders;
• Facilitate knowledge transfer and realized insights of local product performance;
• Proactively respond to market and agronomic opportunities, engage with and manage relationships with academics and third-party stakeholders to enhance Canola initiatives;
• Meet and exceed Bayer safety and compliance standards.

Who you are :

• M.Sc. / Ph.D. or B.Sc. with a minimum of 2 years agronomy or Ag Research experience
• P. Agdesignation or ability to acquire this (Additionally, a CCA or CCSC is an asset.)
• Strong understanding of crop production, agronomy and Bayer product portfolio for DEKALB Canola seed, crop protection and digital solutions
• Strong communicator and demonstrated experience in communicating technical materialto maximize impact internally and externally
• Organized and executed a high-quality field research trial program
• Understands key customer needs to develop tailored solutions
• Understands how to develop research protocols that address customer needs
• Executes sales support activities on farm to support the business
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate motor vehicles safely

Desired

• Advanced computer and database skills with ability to use MS Office Suite as well asother BCS Software (Tableau, Velocity)
