A major mining company in Canada is seeking a Mining Engineer for a Fly-In Fly-Out position in the Kitikmeot Region. Responsibilities include conducting surveys, creating CAD drawings, and assisting in mine planning. YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE

Reporting to the Supervisor, Underground Mine Engineering, you will be part of the Mine Engineering Department. You will be tasked with a variety of technical responsibilities, including survey, ventilation, design and ground control. Given the remote location and scale of the operations, you may be required to broaden your scope of responsibilities and demonstrate proficiency and autonomy in relevant areas. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Participate in daily tasks within the Engineering team, including data compilation, validation and preparation of daily production reports and short‑term planning;
  • Conduct routine surveys of underground workings as required and produce end‑of‑period reports;
  • Create and update various CAD drawings, including lateral development, Drill & Blast, construction and ground control layouts;
  • Assist mine planners with level design process and gather stakeholder feedback for improvements;
  • Perform task observations for ground support installation and provide guidance and training to miners;
  • Carry out ground control inspections and report findings to mine engineers for follow‑up actions;
  • Take accurate ventilation readings in underground workings and prepare ventilation survey reports;
  • Provide support for supply‑related tasks, including forecasting and inventory ordering for sealift season;
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of standardized work procedures;
  • Promote health and safety through active participation in departmental safety activities and risk assessments;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering;
  • 1 year of experience at an operational underground mine;
  • Member of a Canadian Engineering association and eligible for NAPEG membership;
  • Experience with mine design software such as Deswik is considered an asset;
  • Good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Your Work Schedule

  • Schedule: 21 days of work, followed by 21 days for transportation and rest;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
