Type of position: Regular

Your future role on our team

Join BBA and kick-start your career by actively contributing to various project phases as a candidate to the engineering profession in Digital Power Systems.

You’ll help design control, protection and automation systems for high-voltage substations across Canada. You’ll also take part in onsite work to ensure work quality and system compliance before energization. You’ll play an essential role in managing, coordinating and delivering quality projects with the BBA team.

  • Work on engineering projects based on IEC61850 standards
  • Take on various roles, including project leader
  • Design protection diagrams (logic and control diagrams)
  • Design substation HMI/SCADA architecture and configuration
  • Configure smart electronic devices (relays, substations controllers, etc.)
  • Lead testing activities in BBA’s lab
  • Commission digital power systems

Summary of certifications and job requirements

  • University degree in engineering
  • Available for short- and long-term work assignments at client sites
  • Bilingual (English and French), both spoken and written, and ability to draft technical documents in both languages
  • Asset: a diploma from the Institut en génie de l’énergie électrique (IGEE)
  • Asset: knowledge of the IEC61850 standard
  • Asset: experience in configuring and testing digital substation devices
  • Asset: knowledge in configuring HMI/SCADA systems for power systems
