Job summary

A global services company is seeking a Canadian Spanish Interpreter to provide sign language interpretation services in various settings. The ideal candidate will interpret between Canadian Spanish and spoken English, maintain compliance with licensure requirements, and adhere to professional conduct guidelines. Strong communication skills and technology proficiency are essential. Experience is preferred but not required. This role supports individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing in advocating for their needs.

Qualifications

Language: Canadian Spanish Interpreter

We are currently looking for both VRI and on-site Canadian Spanish interpreters. A Canadian Spanish interpreter will provide sign language interpretation services in a variety of settings, including working with individuals who are deaf, deafened, hard of hearing, and/or oral, empowering them to advocate for themselves and their needs.

Candidate Qualifications
  • 3 years’ experience working as an interpreter (preferred, but not required)
  • An associate’s or bachelor’s degree (preferred, but not required)
  • Interpreter certification
  • Understanding of deaf culture, social experiences of deaf and hard of hearing persons, history of education for students who have various levels of hearing loss, and current pedagogical trends for Proven interpersonal skills when working with deaf and hearing impaired persons, communication service providers, instructors, and administrators
  • Proficient computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, electronic scheduling, and internet
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
Responsibilities
  • Effectively interpret between Canadian Spanish and spoken English
  • Maintain, as applicable, compliance with any national, state, or local licensure and/or certification requirements
  • Adhere to guidelines for NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct
  • Accurately complete assigned tasks/duties, projects, and paperwork promptly and within approved guidelines
  • Possess the ability to quickly learn and implement new and changing technologies
  • Possess the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, highly regulated environment
  • Demonstrate willingness and ability to complete additional duties and assignments on an ongoing basis
Additional Requirements
