Job summary

Walmart Canada in Calgary, AB is hiring a Maintenance Technician responsible for routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs of facilities and equipment. Responsibilities

• Manages work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors by completing and providing required written and electronic information such as expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, and maintenance logs.
• Conducts price comparison of parts and travel-related costs; Orders parts and replacement equipment and tracks orders; Records purchases and usage; Submits warranty claims.
• Complies with OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines; Ensures quality work that complies with federal, state, and local regulations; Ensures contractors follow Walmart quality standards and safety requirements; Identifies deficiencies and escalates as needed.
• Unloads and stores equipment; Transports equipment between facilities.
• Maintains company vehicles per policies; Coordinates and transports vehicles for maintenance; Ensures vehicle documentation; Checks fuel, water, brakes, signals and lights.
• Operates and inspects heavy machinery and powered equipment (e.g., forklifts, industrial machines) per training and safety procedures; conducts pre- and post-operation safety checks; identifies unsafe conditions and takes corrective action or escalates.
• Leads and participates in teams; coordinates work assignments; provides advice and support to meet timelines and quality; adapts to changes.
• Develops and implements processes to meet business needs; collaborates with managers, coworkers, customers; monitors progress and looks for improvements.

Position Summary...Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures by following established preventive maintenance schedules and guidelines. Inspects, cleans, and repairs facilities, equipment, or fixtures. Observes and documents signs of wear and tear. Gathers capital expense information. Coordinates and transports vehicles for required maintenance, ensuring beforehand that alternate driving support is arranged. Safely operates motor vehicles and ensures that the vehicle has all required documents. Checks fuel and water levels, brake condition, signals, and lights.3. Operates, inspects, and maneuvers heavy machinery and powered equipment (for example, forklifts, material handling equipment, industrial machines, shop equipment, vehicles) in accordance with training, certification requirements, and safety procedures. Performs pre-operation safety checks and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment is safe, functional, and compliant with applicablestandard. Identifies unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or potential hazards and takes appropriate corrective action or escalates as required.4. Leads and participates in teams by using and sharing resources, information, and tools; determining customer needs and business priorities; coordinating and executing work assignments; providing advice, feedback, and support to ensure timelines and work quality are achieved; and modeling and helping others with how to adapt to change or new challenges.5.
