Job summary

Walmart in Nelson, BC is seeking a Stockperson / Cartpusher to keep aisles safe and the parking area organized while delivering friendly customer service.

You will collect carts, assist customers with carries, perform cleaning and safety tasks, wear PPE, and work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays. This role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and reliability, with minimum pay starting at CAD 18.40 per hour.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience or aptitude for helping customers

Responsibilities

• Collect shopping carts from cart corrals, the parking lot, and store perimeter and return them to storage areas per Walmart procedures.
• Assist customers with carry outs and carry ins and verify receipts when required.
• Perform occasional cleaning and maintenance duties, including restrooms, following chemical handling and disposal guidelines.
• Follow safety and emergency protocols, including lockout/tagout and bloodborne pathogen guidelines.
• Wear required PPE (steel-toe footwear, reflective vest) and conduct safety sweeps as needed.
• Be available for a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Position Summary

As a Stockperson / Cartpusher, you play an important role in creating a safe, organized, and welcoming shopping experience for customers. You are responsible for collecting shopping carts from cart corrals, the parking lot, and the store perimeter and returning them to designated storage locations using approved procedures. Through friendly customer interactions and a strong focus on safety, this role supports smooth store operations while building valuable skills in retail, teamwork, and customer service.

What you'll do

• Support Customer Service Operations

  Collect shopping carts from cart corrals, the parking lot, and store perimeter, and return them safely to designated storage areas using Walmart approved procedures. Ensure required logs are completed accurately.

• Respond to Customer and Store Needs

  Respond promptly to requests from all registers and Customer Service, including assisting customers with carry outs and carry ins and verifying receipts for proof of purchase when required.

• Maintain Clean Facilities and Equipment

  Perform occasional cleaning and maintenance duties, including restrooms, while following established guidelines for chemical handling, proper disposal procedures, and safe use of power equipment. Complete required equipment inspections before use.

• Follow Safety Standards and Procedures

  Adhere to all safety and emergency protocols, including hazardous communication, lockout/tagout, and bloodborne pathogen guidelines, to maintain a safe environment for customers and associates.

• Promote a Safe and Hazard Free Work Environment

  Use required personal protective equipment, including steel toe footwear and a reflective vest, complete safety sweeps as required, and follow Company policies and procedures to support a clean, safe workplace.

• Flexibility (Availability/Work Schedule)

  Be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. Your adaptability helps ensure the store runssmoothlyand customers receive consistent, high-quality service.
