Position Summary...

The Senior Financial Analyst, Merchandise Finance plays a key leading role in creating and delivering monthly results, forecasts, reporting, and other FP&A activities for all business units within the Merchandise banner. This role focuses on optimizing investment returns and financial performance, supporting the Director of Finance: Omni Merch. The position proactively identifies key risks and opportunities, recommends corrective actions to ensure financial goals are met, and provides oversight on complex, multi-business unit finance projects and processes.

What you'll do...
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the development of annual budgets by aligning targets with finance business partners. Assist in setting departmental targets based on market dynamics, historical performance, and capital/expense investments.
  • Performance Management: Manage performance and hold business teams accountable for Omni P&L results through weekly and monthly forecast and review processes.
  • Analysis & Reporting: Proactively analyze trends, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend plans to support business teams’ financial targets. Create, distribute, and present management reports that clearly communicate financial performance by channel.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with other finance teams, including Controllership and eCommerce Finance, to ensure accuracy of financial data and reporting.
  • Timely Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate reporting of sales and gross profit data during monthly closing and forecasting cycles, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  • Process & System Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements and standardized solutions across finance functions—spanning Operations, Supply Chain, Real Estate, and more.
  • Business Case Development: Support the development of business cases for initiatives, prioritizing Capex and Opex investment recommendations, and present findings to finance and business leadership.
  • Multi-Business Unit Initiatives: Lead process initiatives to drive efficiency and simplify Omni Merch Finance operations.
  • Coaching & Development: Coach and develop indirect reports (project team FAs), support onboarding, and provide ongoing training in new financial analyses and methodologies. Foster associate engagement through recognition and responsiveness.
  • Central FP&A Partnership: Work closely with Central Merch FP&A to ensure management reporting accuracy and to standardize and optimize reporting processes.
  • Narrative & KPI Reporting: Draft initial narratives on variance and KPI trends for review cycles.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize financial reporting tools such as Excel, Tableau, SAP, and MFP to manage/analyze data and improve reporting capabilities.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships within Finance and with business partners to support collaborative financial planning and decision-making.

Qualifications
